Bloemfontein serves as something of an oasis, as it is centrally located in the Free State province and also in South Africa. This gives the city a logistical advantage, causing its popularity to grow with national companies. It lies on the N1 between Johannesburg and Cape Town, often functioning as a stop-off to break the long journey between the two. The only major centre for miles around, it’s also the sixth-largest city in the country and the judicial capital of South Africa.
